Jesse Michael Pierce
Jesse Michael Pierce was born March 11, 1974, in McAlester, Oklahoma to Lawrence Pierce and Verna Lilley and passed from this life April 12, 2024, at his home in Holdenville at the age of 50.
Jesse spent his early years in Hartshorn, coming to Wetumka as a teenager. He attended and graduated from Wetumka High School. For the past few years he made his home in Holdenville. As a young man he was married to Sami Hill and to this union a daughter, Dawn, was born.
Jesse took an interest in funeral service while in high school and worked at the Williamson Funeral Home. He later attended the University of Central Oklahoma where he received a degree in Mortuary Science and he became a licensed funeral director and embalmer. He continued to work for the Williamson Funeral Home in Wetumka, then the Shurden Funeral Home in Henryetta, and later the John Ireland Funeral Home in Moore. Jesse then continued his education at East Central University in Ada where he completed a Master’s Degree in Psychology and became a Licensed Professional Counselor. He worked for the Davis Correctional Center in Holdenville and most recently Stepping Stones, Inc., a treatment center located in Boley, Oklahoma.
Jesse loved watching The Price Is Right on TV, even though he sometimes watched it while the TV was muted. He also loved to fish and had been known to noodle on occasion.
Survivors include: his daughter Dawn Pierce and her fiancée Luke Boswell of Skiatook; his mother Verna Lilley of Holdenville; his father Lawrence Pierce of McAlester; two brothers, Joseph McKelvey of Portland, Oregon and Jeremy Pierce of McAlester, and Coy Pierce of McAlester; 2 sisters, Kelley Pace of Holdenville and Desarae Alexander of Hartshorn; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 16 at the Williamson Funeral Home in Wetumka from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 18 at the Wetumka First Methodist Church with Rev. Don Williamson, pastor, officiating.
