Phillip Dean Ozment passed into the arms of the Lord on August 31, 2022 in Sugar Land, Texas. We are eternally grateful that family was able to be by his side the morning of his passing. Born in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Dean and Hazel Ozment, Phil grew up on the beloved family farm near Wetumka, Oklahoma. He graduated from Wetumka High School where he excelled in academics making the Honor Roll. He was also an All-State athlete in both basketball and football. He went on to attain a BS degree in business at Oklahoma State University. While working as a roughneck on oil rigs around Wilburton, Oklahoma, he met the love of his life, Lois Ann Chronister. They soon married on September 3, 1960. This union was blessed with son, Phillip Andrew and daughter Roxanne B.

Phil took a job working for Baroid and the family moved to Liberty, Texas in 1963. He then worked in outside steel sales working with his brother, Dick at Metal and Tubes. After several moves around the state of Texas for the company, the family settled in Quail Valley located in Missouri City, Texas in 1973 where he still lived.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents Dean and Hazel Ozment and brothers Dick, David and Pat. He is survived by his wife of 62 years Ann, son Phillip (Andy) and his wife Joanne, daughter Roxanne Forster and her husband Peter, grandsons Jason Ozment and his wife Rachel and Graeme Forster, granddaughter Emily Forster, great grandson Andrew Ozment and great granddaughter Elizabeth Ozment. He will also be fondly remembered by his many cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous friends.

Phil loved his family and will be remembered by his infectious grin and hearty laugh. He loved family gatherings and took great joy entertaining his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was always willing to help others and made friends wherever he was and loved meeting new people. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved wildlife and achieved Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts. Phil also enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved his Houston Astros. He got his green thumb from his parents growing up on the farm and it showed in his vegetable and flower gardens.

A Celebration of Life occurred on September 8, 2022 at the Settegast-Kopf Funeral Home located at 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land, Texas at noon. Burial took place at the Wilburton City Cemetery; Wilburton, Oklahoma on September 10, 2022.
