Our sympathy is extended to the family of Andrea Crawford
Andrea Jean Newton Crawford was born September 2, 1971 in Cleveland, Oklahoma in Pawnee County to Andrew J. ‘Butch’ Newton III (2013) and Anna Mae Swift Newton. Andy Jean departed from her earthly body surrounded by her family on February 12, 2023 at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Her early childhood was spent mostly in Osage and Pawnee Counties. In the late 1970s her family moved to the Holdenville/ Yeager area where they made their home and she spent the rest of her life.
Andy Jean attended Moss Public School, where she was a member of 4H and FHA. While in high school she attended the Wes Watkins Technology Center Certified Nurse's Aide program.
She was known in school as a very fun and free-spirited person and was always the life of the party. She was a member of the Moss Class of 1990.
After graduation Andrea worked in Holdenville at Dairy Queen, Heritage Village Nursing Home and Boyce Manor Nursing home before meeting and falling in love with her soul mate, Donald Crawford. The couple met in July 1992 and after a short time were married on September 12, 1992 at Hilltop Freewill Baptist Church in Wewoka, Oklahoma and have spent the last 30 years and 5 months by each others’ side. They made their home in the Pennwest Addition of Holdenville for 20+ years till moving to help care for Andrea’s ailing father.
Growing up she loved to sing in church and had the most amazing soprano voice. Her favorite thing was to sing duets with her mom. Andrea had a big heart for children, so for several years she and her spouse opened their home to foster children. She loved being able to mentor these young children during these rough times of their lives.
Those who knew Andrea knew she was a very crafty person. She enjoyed making beaded jewelry, Christmas ornaments, and loved to draw and paint. If she wasn’t crafting she was in the kitchen baking and experimenting. And she truly enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and nephews.
Andrea Jean Newton Crawford is survived by her husband, Donald Wayne Crawford, and three fur babies Wally, Jake and Samson, all of the home; two sons, Robert Crawford of Ada, and Levi and wife Heather Arsee of Wewoka; daughter Jalyn Daniels of Lawton; 10 grandchildren: Keaton (Alexus) Featherston of Arab, Alabama, Maliah (Nathanial) Bohay, Natalie Arsee, and Emerson Arsee, all of Wewoka, Brandee Crawford, Liberty Crawford, Olivia Crawford and Willow Crawford, all of Holdenville, and Javeyn Wilson and Javiah Miller of Lawton, Oklahoma; two precious great-grandsons, Kade Featherston and Asher Bohay; her two sisters, Jerrianna Kindrick of Henryetta and Amy (Delbert) Kibby, along with two very special nephews, Derron Sisco and Hunter Kibby, all of Wetumka Oklahoma; and sistersin- law Ruby Oacha of Oklahoma City and Betty Jane Crawford of Minnesota.
