Unknowingly, on Sunday afternoon, his nephew came by his home to take him out to dinner but made a detour to the Clearview Main Street Community Center where he was surprised with a birthday party organized by his niece Shawnda Grundy and sister-in-law Shirley Grundy. He was met with members of the Grundy family who he had not seem in months, especially his older sister Betty from Oklahoma City. Others attending were his Clearview family and friends, especially his older friend 96-year-old Otis Davis. He was greeted with the traditional Happy Birthday song followed with a meal and birthday cakes of all flavors. Meet Ron and Sheila White

Ron and Sheila White of Arizona dropped by Clearview for a tour last week. Ron is retired military Marine disable veteran. During the visit, Ron revealed they had lived in several states while raising a family. Now that they are retired, they have decided to settle down. They chose to purchase two properties in Oklahoma. One property happened to be near Clearview. While touring the property in this area last week, they happened to drive through Clearview, not knowing anything about the town, stopped at Wanda Jeans restaurant where they met a few residents and liked what they learned about the town. They have purchased a 40-acre tract just off Hwy 62 in what is known as the Galilee area. Galilee once had a Black school which fed into the Clearview school district. Most of the Black residents who once lived there worked for the Doug Sharp Ranch. After learning the history of the area, the Whites are excited about making their home there and bringing their families to Okfuskee County and working in the community. They hope to make the transition within a year.
