Ambulance service returns to Wetumka and Calvin

Director Kristy Lashbrook is pleased to announce to all Hughes County citizens that HCEMS has opened our Calvin and Wetumka substations. This is the final part of the Nov. 2016 EMS Bond. EMS operations began July 29. “I am pleased to begin 24/7/365 operation of our new substations in Calvin and Wetumka. It’s been over 17 years since Hughes County has had three substations open. This would not have been possible without the support of the county taxpayers,” stated Lashbrook. Tommy Taylor, EMS Board of Trustee President added “This has been a major goal for Kristy and her Command Staff and the Board as a whole and in the midst of a global pandemic, when healthcare services around the state and country are having to cut back services, I am happy to say that our financial foundation is secure and we are pleased to open the new substations. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the Command Staff of Hughes County EMS, and the EMTs and Paramedics working every day, we want to again thank the citizens for their support.”
