Service Friday for Modean Ferren Beck

Barbara, Ferren, Johnny Ferren, Calvin Ernest Ferren, Ray Beck, and Janet Geere; grandchildren include Johnathan Martin, Anisha Clemens, Noah Ferren, and Emma Ferren; great-grandchildren include MaKenna Macaughey, Madison Macaughey, Landen Tucker, Kylie Clemens, and Carter Clemens. She has six brothers, Woodrow McDonald, Robert McDonald (deceased), Ronnie McDonald, Edward McDonald, and Ben McDonald (deceased), and Dan McDonald; and three sisters, Mary Mc Donald (deceased), Betty Collins (deceased) and Neda Fae Broege. Also, numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents two sisters and two brothers. Modean died on Friday, August 19, 2022 in the home. She passed 30 years to the day of her late husband, John R Ferren.

by April Briscoe, Principal Giving children the foundation they need to become well-rounded, healthy individuals is a core value at Wetumka Elementary. This core value includes recognizing the benefits of playing during recess. Research shows improved working memory, mood, and attention after physical activity. Additionally, playing with classmates helps children develop and sharpen social skills. When students are faced with inclement weather, however, and not able to go outside to play, research shows that students’ performance levels drop.
