Clearview Brown Suggas Visit Peach Orchard

The Clearview Brown Suggas visited the Livsey Peach Orchard in Porter last week. This only one of the scheduled trips for the group this year. While there, they loaded their baskets with vegetables and peaches along with jellies, preserves, sauces, and syrups. They just didn’t stop there, they had to visit the Peach Barn Orchard & Bakery for lunch and peach ice cream and fried pies. The next stop included Arnold’s fruit stand on Shawnee Bypass in Muskogee. Normore/Horn Reunion

Descendants of the Oris Normore and John and Nathan Horn, all formerly of Clearview, met in Wichita, Kansas during the June 14 – 16. 2024 weekend. Members of the families from states as far away as California, Arizona, Texas, and Oklahoma joined together at Hilton Inn Gardens for their bi-annul family reunion. The original families came to Oklahoma in the early 1900s from Louisiana and Mississippi and settled in communities surrounding Clearview. Many family members attended the Galilee and Northfork schools and graduated from Clearview High School. Although, the original members are long passed away, the younger generation have pledged to continue to tradition of the family reunion while they search for their extended generations.

Astronaut John Herrington honored

As a kickoff of the American Indian Festival of Words, the Tulsa City County Library honored astronaut and retired Naval aviator Cmdr. John Herrington by adding him to the Circle of Honor.
