Arjean Williams
Leta Arjean Williams passed away in Oklahoma City on Friday, March 1, 2024, at the age of 87 years.
Arjean is the daughter of Raymond & Blanche (Replogie) Clark, born on December 23, 1936, in Byron, Oklahoma. At a young age she moved with her family to Perryton, Texas, where she was a graduate of Perryton High School. She was married in Perryton in 1954 to Robert Ervin Williams, and they made their home there for several years. Her husband preceded her in death and the family moved to Holdenville, Oklahoma in 1970, where Arjean managed McLellan’s variety store until the store closed and they moved to Perry, Oklahoma, where she managed the Mc-Lellan’s store for a year. The family returned to Holdenville and after several years, Arjean moved west to work with her brother, Don Clark, in his construction business in Denver, Colorado and Laramie, Wyoming. She returned to Holdenville in 2008 and worked for Chesnutt Lumber Company until the store closed in 2022.
Arjean was enthusiastic about all sports, from playing basketball in high school to bowling, to golfing during the time she spent in Colorado. She especially loved softball, and enjoyed playing until she was 70 years of age. She was an avid fan of OU, OSU, OKC Thunder, and the Dallas Cowboys. She was a most devoted fan of the Holdenville Wolverines and the HHS Golden Pride Band. In later years she loved playing dominoes often with her ‘ladies clubs’. She loved nature and could identify nearly every kind of bird, flower, and tree. She loved singing and was from a family of singers - trios, quartets, small groups - every family gathering included singing, and she always sang in the church choir. She was a member of the Atwood First Baptist Church. Her family was the joy of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond & Blanche Clark; her husband, Robert Ervin Williams; six brothers: Bob Clark, Bill Clark, Larry Clark, Loy Clark, Gib Clark, and Gail Clark; one sister, Darlene Calaway; grandson Claud Byerly Ill, and great-grandson Toby Mitchon.
