Carlene Bruner
Carlene Bruner was born on July 6th, 1923. She passed from this life on December 2, 2024 in Wetumka at the age of 101.
Carlene was born in Sallisaw to Tom Douglas and Minnie Hughes. She spent the majority of her life in Wetumka, other than when travelling due to pipelining. She graduated from Dustin High School as part of the Class of 1942. She married her husband Raymond in 1946, and together they raised 6 children: Billie, Susie, Charlie, Scott, Eugene, and Jimmy.
Carlene raised cows. She kept them up until she was 99 years old. She enjoyed tending to her vegetable garden, her cats, and cooking for her family. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She also became a member of the Centennial Club.
Later in life, Carlene retired from Blue Bell in Seminole. Following her retirement, she worked at the Wetumka nursing home as the activities director until she was 82. She could be found every day at lunchtime at the Creek Nation Nutrition Center.
Carlene is survived by her daughters, Billie Stover and Susie Arnold; as well as 9 grandchildren, 22 greatgrandchildren, and 15 greatgreat grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; her sons, Charlie Bruner, Scott Bruner, Eugene Bruner, and Jimmy Bruner;
and one greatgranddaughter, Carli Wagoner. Visitation for Carlene Bruner will be held Friday, December 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka.
Funeral Services for Carlene Bruner will be held Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Wetumka First Assembly of God at 11:00 AM.
Rev. Don Williamson will officiate.
