Community Mourns Loss of Carley Ann Tatum
Carley Ann Tatum was born in Ada, Oklahoma on July 18, 2001, to Kevin and Krista Tatum.
She was raised in Holdenville, Oklahoma and graduated from Holdenville High School in 2020. She was an honor student and was also inducted into theAthletic Hall of Fame. Carley attended Northern Oklahoma College on a basketball scholarship and completed her Associate’s Degree in one year. She then attended East Central University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2023. She was very driven, getting her degree in three years. Carley was accepted into the Oklahoma University Dental Hygiene program. She was on track to finish in May of 2025 and
looked forward to starting her career.
Carley was a breath of fresh air and a bright light. She was very adventurous, never met a stranger, enjoyed traveling, concerts, anything outdoors, and being with family and friends.
Carley went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2024, along with her soulmate, Clayton Soloman.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Gene Wudi, uncle Med Nunn, and cousin Brooklyn Murphy.
She is survived by her parents; her sister and brother-in-law, Courtney and Justin Fitzgerald; her maternal grandmother, Ann Wudi; paternal grandparents, Dub and Peggy Tatum; uncle and aunts, Terry and Cathy Murphy, Laura Nunn, Kevin and Laurayne Wudi, John and Cherri Thomas, Jody and Genia Olsen, and Bryan and Tisha Tatum; and numerous cousins, friends and other relatives. Funeral service was 10:00 am, Tuesday, August 6th, at the First Baptist Church of Holdenville with Pastor Rob Lindley, officiating, assisted by Pastor James
Poulain. Interment followed at Holdenville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kevin Wudi, Bryan Tatum, Justin Fitzgerald, Morgan Turner, Jake Williams and Kaleb Mendenhall. Honorary pallbearers were Clio Heath, Bailee Black, Chelby Bowen, Ivy Bible, Emily Smith, Emmi Meek, Kylee Mendenhall and Kenzi Williams.
Services were under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.
