Donald James Hightower
Donald “Donnie” James Hightower passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 73.
Donnie was born March 24, 1949 in Holden - ville, Oklahoma to Bob Ingram Hightower and Wilma Lucille (Ward) Hightow -
er. He graduat ed from Gerty Public School. Donnie married Sharon Keechi on July 8, 2020 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was an Inspector for the Department of Agriculture. Donnie started working for the Department of Agriculture right out of high school 1967 and graded peanuts, strawberries and tomatoes. He retired as Livestock Market News Analyst.
Donnie enjoyed domi- noes at the Turf Club, cards, flea markets, barter and trade chickens, goats, going to the Amish Trade Days, driving around, and deer camp.
Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, and infant brother Robert High tower.
He is survived by his wife Sharon of the home; children Paul Hightower and wife Kay of Elk City, Ju - lie Hightower of Durant, and Elizabeth Man ual and husband Dustin of Ada; step-sons Jason Williams and wife Jada of Allen, and Ed win Ahpeahtone of Calvin; grandchildren Reece Hightower, and Kayden Shupe; brothers Mickey Hightower and wife Judy of Prague, and Rex Hightower and wife Re gina of Gerty; and aunt Judy Huffstutlar and husband, Red, of Francis. Donnie is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, No vember 5th , at Hudson-Phil - lips Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randall Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Gerty Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Blake Hightower, Shawn High - tower, J.R. Hightower, Briar Hightower, Brian Carter and James Ward. Honorary pall - bearers are Larry Howard, John Howry, Jack Goodson and the coffee drinkers at Merriman’s Store in Allen.
Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
