Dora Faye Colbert passed away at her son’s home in Mansfield, Texas on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at the age of 91 years.

Faye was the daughter of Joseph H. Wilson and Fannie (Frazier) Wilson, born on November 3, 1929, in Marlow, Oklahoma. She was brought up and attended schools in Round Prairie and Gerty. She was married at age 18 to Dolphus ‘Doc’ Colbert on May 1, 1947.

Following her husband’s military career, they lived in various states including Missouri, Montana, Texas, and Oklahoma, and also in the country of France. They retired at Richards-Gebauer Air Force Base in Kansas City, Missouri, and moved to Gerty in 1969. ‘Doc’ passed away in 1987 and Faye moved to St. Francis Village, Texas, her home for the past thirty-three years. She was an expert in Genealogy, which was her hobby and passion. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Fannie Wilson; her husband of forty years, Dolphus ‘Doc’ Colbert; three brothers, Harmon Wilson, Kenneth Wilson, and Horace Lee Wilson; four sisters, Lois Hale, Naomi Brock, Myrtle Miller and Joella Tatum, her partner in genealogy; nieces and nephews, Carolyn Brock, Benny Miller, Grover Miller, Dewayne Hale, Anna May Wilson, Jerry Wilson, and Ky Wilson.

She is survived by her daughter, Sissy Snow and husband Gary of Peculiar, Missouri, and her son, Ed Colbert of Mansfield, Texas; five grandchildren, Ryan Colbert of Fort Worth, Texas, Mandy Colbert of Austin, Texas, Heath Rhinehart of Harrisonville, Missouri, Keith Rhinehart of Knob Noster, Missouri, and Rick Rhinehart of Thailand; five great-grandchildren, Kellan, Heather, Sierra, Crystal, and Brian; one great-greatgrandchild, Aryah; one sister, Darlene Lowe of Calvin; numerous nieces and nephews, including Joyce Searcy, Tochie Cates, John Tatum Jr, Carolyn Boren, Deonna Nall, Randall Miller, Wilma Harden, Jimmy Wilson, Kenny Wilson, Kathy Mathis, Kevin Wilson, Kris Wilson, Sandra Heath, Corene Ward, Joseph Wilson, Betty Wilson, Linda Wilson, Shirley Wilson, Harmony Wilson, Timothy Brock, and Danny Brock; a host of other family members and many friends.

Graveside services were held and Faye was laid to rest at Gerty Cemetery, 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12 th . Rev. Randall Miller was the officiating minister.
