Frances Alene “Rusty” Jones

Frances Alene “Rusty” Jones passed away Wednesday, September 27th, 2023 at Seminole Care & Rehab in Seminole, Oklahoma at the age of 92. Rusty was born December 8th, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to JamesAllen Johnston and Letha (Brinsfield) Johnston. She attended Wewoka Public School.

Rusty married Roy C. Potter Jr. and had 3 children.

Later, she married Clifford (Pete) R. Jones. She graduated from Woodward Beauty College and later became Beauty College Instructor. Rusty enjoyed card games and she loved her family. Rusty was a member of the Red Hat Ladies.

Rusty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pete Jones, Roy Potter Jr., children; Glynnon Potter, Jackie Hicks, siblings; Bobby Johnston, Jimmy Johnston, Betty Brown, Zelda Morris, Geraldine Ingram and Wilma Lantrip. She is survived by her son Tony Potter and wife Sequeeta of Wewoka, grandchildren; Tricia Lowe and husband Ronald of Wewoka, Teri Potter of Wewoka, Amy Mooring of Blackwell, Ashly McCoy of Blackwell, great grandchildren; Laila, Bubba, Remington, and Abel. Rusty is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be 1:30pm-5:00pm, Sunday, Oct. 1st and 9:00am-7:00pm, Monday, Oct. 2nd at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville, Oklahoma with Pastor Dane Robinson officiating.

Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
