Frances Ann Herrod was born February 8, 1955 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Robert and Louise (McCosar) Herrod. She passed from this life on February 26, 2021 in Ada, Oklahoma at the age of 66.

Frances was baptized on June 11, 1969 by Jacob Bear and was a member of the Tookparfka Baptist Church. Frances attended and graduated from Calvin High School in 1973. She went on to further her education at Southeastern in Durant, Oklahoma. She received her Master’s degree in Human Development and Family Services. Having worked in different areas after graduating college, her final place of employment was at the Department of Human Services in Ada, Oklahoma, where she worked for many years.

Preceding her in death are her parents, Robert and Louise Herrod; sisters, Elouise Harjo, Katie Kincaid, and Gladysteen Herrod; brothers, Frank Harjo, Wayne Harjo, Richard Herrod, and John Herrod; and one niece, Roberta Edwards.

Survivors include her daughter Silissa (Star) Herrod of Ada; five grandkids and two great-grandchildren, Adriana, Alissa, Richard, Logan, Arya, Mason and Devin; sisters, Minnie Harrod, of Wetumka, and Zula Mae Harrod, Leona Herrod and Estelle Herrod all of Calvin; brother Amos Harjo and wife Michelle of Cyrill; and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

She was known as Mom to her daughter, Mimi to her grand kids, and to the family she was known as Lali a name that will not be forgotten to all that loved her. Wake service was Tuesday, March 2nd, at 7:00 pm at the Tookparfka Baptist Church in Calvin, Oklahoma.

Funeral services were Wednesday, March 3 rd , 1:00 pm at the Tookparfka Baptist Church in Calvin, with Rev. Edward Bear officiating assisted by Bro. Timothy Long. Interment followed at Herrod Family Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Murphy Herrod, Dakota Fish, Robert Harrison, Blaine Harjo, Josh Harrison and Noah Ramirez. Honorary Pallbearers were Nevin Washington, Byron Perry, Anthony Fish, Brad Roberts, Angel Velasco, Tyrone Washington, Esalas Harrison and James Hicks.

Services were under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
