Lyndsall Medford Robertson Passes Away
Lyndall Medford Robertson was born on August 12, 1923 and went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2024. Graveside services will be held at Calvin Cemetery on Friday, September 27th, at 2:00 PM, officiated by Garrett Napier, under the direction of Hudson Phillips Funeral Home of Holdenville.
Lyndall graduated from Stuart High School in Oklahoma in 1940 after moving from Carter during her senior year.
She had a passion for academics and a love for learning.
Lyndall earned her bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in mathematics and counseling from East Central University and went on to receive her doctorate from the University of Oklahoma. She began her teaching career in small rural schools before moving to Calvin, where she taught mathematics for many years. She later served as a high school counselor and director of special education in the McAlester School District, as well as teaching classes at East Central University. Lyndall retired from her position with the Oklahoma State Department of Education.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed studying the Bible, reading, cooking, working on puzzles, and crocheting. Her love for her family knew no bounds; she cherished every moment spent with them and always welcomed guests into her home with a hot cup of coffee.
Lyndallissurvivedby her daughter, Susan London and husband Tom; granddaughters Sunny McRay and husband Bryan, and Leah Anderson and husband Michael; great-grandchildren Jake McRay, Jaxen McRay, Jace McRay, Olivia McRay, and Reicher Anderson; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, J.D. Robertson, Jr.; her parents, Harry and Maude Medford; and her sisters, Nova Perkins and Leola Lindley.
Pallbearers will be Jake, Jaxen, Jace, and Bryan McRay, along with Michael and Reicher Anderson.
