Marvelle Catherine Messel

Marvelle Catherine Messel passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 100.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, May 9 th, at Pryor Cemetery in Stuart, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers were Tyler Wayne Thomas, Ryan Lynn Messel, Joseph Luke D’Amico, Michael Lane Messel, Thomas Anthony Reece and Joseph Nicholas D’Amico.

Marvelle was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Ray Messel; parents Claude Worel and Maurine Elms Worel; sister - Coeze Worel Wheeler; her motherin- law Bessie Beard Messel; daughter-in-law Sue Morris Messel; and great-grandson Joshua Mac Michael Messel.

She is survived by her son Douglas Michael Messel of Purcell; granddaughters Lisa Messel D’Amico and husband Joseph D’Amico of Norman, Teresa Kay Messel of Norman, and Deanna Messel Fillmore of Goldsby; greatgrandchildren Tyler Wayne Thomas and Ashleigh Nicole Reyes of Tulsa, Ryan Lynn Messel of Norman, Andrew Nolan Wyrick of Galveston, Texas, Rylee D’Amico Reece and husband Thomas Reece of Newcastle, Ila Breanna Elizabeth Fillmore and Kalen Cochran of Edmond, Joseph Luke D’Amico of Norman; great-greatgrandchildren Michael Lane Messel of Norman, Alyia Nicole Reece, Destin Anthony Reece and Isaiah Thomas Reece of Newcastle, Ryder Achilles Weese, Isabella Jade Thomas and Gabriella Jane Thomas of Tulsa, Kya Monet Cochran of Edmond, Andrew Nolan Wyrick Jr., Keason Wayne Wyrick, and Annslie Rayne Wyrick of Galveston, Texas; nieces Bunny Lanette Wheeler of Pahrump, Nevada, Kathy Jo Wheeler of Pahrump, Nevada, and Debbie Wheeler Miller and husband David Miller of Newport Beach, California.
