Melvin “Leroy” Newman

A celebration of life for Melvin “Leroy” Newman of Wetumka, Oklahoma will be held Friday, October 8, 2021 at 10:00 AM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Wetumka, Oklahoma.

Melvin “Leroy” Newman was born December 28, 1948 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Harold Newman and Darlene (Banta) Newman. He passed away Friday, October 1, 2021 at his home in Wetumka, Oklahoma at the age of 72.

Leroy was a longtime resident of Wetumka and a 1967 graduate of Wetumka High School. He was a lifelong pipeliner who also enjoyed fishing, tinkering in his garage and doing carpentry work. On March 18, 1992 in Marlon, Texas, he married Regina Apala.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Linda Parker.

He is survived by his wife, Regina of the home in Wetumka; four daughters, Jackie Smith of Okemah, Heather Perry and husband Tim of Hennessey, Oklahoma, Teena Bartel and husband Chris of Fairview, Oklahoma and Tammy Bowers and husband Dawson of Farview; 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Wetumka, Oklahoma.
