Mike Brooks

Mike Brooks was born October 4, 1954 to Finos and Jeanette (Smith) Brooks at Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of 6 children.

Mike graduated from Wetumka High School in 1972 and EOSC in Wilburton in 1974. Mike married Cathy Dee White on June 22, 1974 in Weleetka, Oklahoma. They had two children Michael Shane and Jackie Mae.

Mike worked in the oilfield for Harry Diamond for many years, retiring in 2018. Mike owned and operated Brooks Dozer Service with his son Shane. Mike was a good man, husband and father, but he was a fantastic Papaw. He was crazy about his grandkids. He went to all the school functions, ballgames, livestock shows, and award banquets. He bought boats and ponies which he enjoyed playing with the kids.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jorene Caldwell, brother John Brooks, brother-in-law, Afton Kelly, sister-in-law Marie Brooks.

He is survived by his wife Cathy of the home; son Shane and wife Beth of Wetumka; daughter Jackie and Aubie Keesee of Wetumka; sister Christine Kelly and Jon of Shawnee; brother Tom Brooks and wife Shirley of Pottsboro, Texas; brother Bill Brooks and Linda of Moore; and grandchildren Gage, Tate, Tara Keesee, Maycie, Kinley, Presley Brooks. Mike is also survived by numerous other family and friends.

Viewing will be from 8:00am-8:00pm Thursday September 24, 2020 at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home.

Graveside service will be 10:00 am Friday, September 25 ^th , at Wetumka Cemetery, Wetumka, Oklahoma officiated by Rev. John Roberts assisted by Jimmy Jett, Jr.

Pallbearers are Eric Elliott, Roll Bray, Cameron Miller, Adam McFarland, Shane Walden, Tyler Chastain. Honorary pallbearers are Arlie Nolen, John Chastain, Mike Morgan, Mike Corley, Bill Beasley, Richard Chastain and all of his nephews.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
