Our Sympathies extended to the families of... Allen Crawford
Allen Dale Crawford was born on June 29th, 1944 to Leonard and Laura Crawford in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He grew up in Lamar and was the youngest of nine children.
At the age of seventeen, having taught himself to play bass guitar, he left Holdenville to tour with his band, “The Shadows Five”, with his best friend Gary Sullivan. After many years on the road, he returned home to Holdenville.
One Saturday afternoon at the local baseball field he reconnected with the little girl down the street, Barbara, whom he had known since he was a young boy. They married a year later on June 12th, blending their children from previous marriages, Dana/Keith and Shannon/Cameron, into each other lives.
Throughout his life, no matter if it were music, construction, or insurance, Allen started from the bottom and made his way to the top, always making sure his family was provided for. For several years he worked at Prudential, where he was promoted to manager and moved Barbara and Cameron to Oklahoma City, where they resided ever since.
Allen and Barbara loved to travel and celebrated many happy years of marriage together and were very much looking forward to celebrating their 40th anniversary this year.
He loved motorcycles, buying cars, and his Model A - his favorite. He enjoyed having coffee with his buddies at the local donut shop and getting together with the Ole Geezers from Holdenville to swap stories. Most of all he loved his family, his children, grandchildren, great-grandson, and his beloved Barb.
On Friday, April 23, 2021 Allen Dale Crawford, loving husband and father of four children, passed away at the age of 76.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Laura and Leonard Crawford, his siblings Joy, Judy, Betty, Corinne, Jack, Tom, Junior, and his two grandsons, Evan Crawford and Justin Wilkerson.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Crawford, his sister Mary, his four children, Dana and husband Jimmy, Shannon and husband Corey, Keith, Cameron and wife Emily, four granddaughters, Ashton, Bayleigh, Courtney, and Tiffany, two grandsons Robert and Zach, and one great-grandson Bennett.
