Our sympathy is extended to the family of Wanda Deere

Wanda Lee Deere was born January 26, 1940 in Holdenville, the only child of John and Alma Lee Womack Cox. Wanda passed away on July 17, 2024 at the age of 84.

Wanda married Ben F. Deere of Holdenville on November 24, 1965, they were devoted to each other until Ben’s death in 2002. Together they had one daughter Angelia Rene’Deere Stewart, married to Joe W. Stewart, Oklahoma City, and one son Kevin Shaun Deere, who pre-deceased Wanda.

In 1958 Wanda graduated top ten percent in her class at Holdenville High. Wanda was a resident of Legends Assisted Living in Oklahoma City, who provided for her care during her last days.

She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church and the Church of the Nazarene in Holdenville and an active member of the American Legion Post 32.

Wanda enjoyed fishing, bowling, gardening, and participating in bus trips to Branson and other locations.

Wanda was a nurse assistant helping in the local nursing homes and private nursing.

She truly enjoyed volunteering at the local animal shelter. She loved her cats and family and she never have anything bad to say about anyone.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hudson Phillips Funeral Home, Legends Assisted Living and Legacy Hospice in Oklahoma City, and special thanks to Pastor Dane Robinson for his hospital visits, friendship and services over the many years.

Service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 25 th, at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville, Oklahoma with Pastor Dane Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at Holdenville Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville , Oklahoma.
