Service Held for Billy Dale McCoy
Billy Dale McCoy was born on November 22, 1959 to John and Nell (Peerson) McCoy. He passed away at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at the age of 64. He lived his entire life at Lamar, Oklahoma.
Billy is preceded in death by his wife Justeen (Steele) McCoy; his parents, John and Nell McCoy; his paternal grandparents, James Shelton ‘Shep’ and Rosa McCoy, and maternal grandparents Otus and Cecil Peerson.
He is survived by Billy Keith McCoy, Kimberly and Larry Carter, Delane and Bob Seeley, Brenda and Gary Reid, Ellen Rouse, and fur babies Paddy, Bandit, and Old Yeller. He is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
Billy enjoyed anything that allowed him to be outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and gardening. He worked all his life farming, caring for cattle and horses, and as a dozer operator. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Lamar Fire Department and served as Fire Chief for the past several years. He loved watching old westerns, with Gunsmoke being his favorite. Recently, he had become fond of watching YouTube videos, especially old tractors and harvesting large crops with the “big tractors”.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 30th, at 11:00 am in the Lamar Baptist Church, and Billy was laid to rest at Lamar Cemetery with Rev. Marla Chesser officiating.
Pallbearers were Keith McCoy, Jackie Goodson, Chad Goodson, Bodrey Goodson, Trey Carpenter, and Chris Carpenter. Honorary pallbearers were Danny McMullen, Larry Carter, Paul Camp, Trevor Carpenter, Tom Cartwright, David Peixotto, David Barbre, Mickey Selvidge, Ronnie Luna, Paul Huff, and Charley Foster. http:// www.fisherfh.net
