Graveside services for Billy Donald Quinton, Sr. were held Tuesday June 23, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Weleetka Hillcrest Cemetery.
Billy Donald Quinton Sr. was born August 27, 1929 in Texanna, Oklahoma to Isaac Samuel Quinton and Mae (Farmer) Quinton. He passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 in Okemah, Oklahoma at the age of 90.
Mr. Quinton was a resident of the Weleetka area most all of his life and was a graduate of Eufaula High School. On March 23, 1954 in Eufaula, Oklahoma he married Patty Lou Dabbs. Mr. Quinton owned and operated a Phillips 66 service station in Weleetka and also worked as a truck driver and pastor of the Pharoah Baptist Church for many years. He truly enjoyed taking care of the people in the community and, often, would go visit people in the nursing home and help in any way he could. He also proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War. He will be dearly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Neva Quinton Meckel, Louise Palmer and Lucille Warren and three brothers, Clint, Samuel Isaac and John Quinton.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Lou Quinton of Weleetka; his son, Billy Donald Quinton Jr. and wife Angela of Prague; his daughter, Karen Elaine Whitehouse and husband Loyd Dwain of St. Cloud, Florida; one sister, Janice Olzawski of Muskogee, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren, Aonica and Joey Arato of Roanoke, Texas, Leslie Brooke and Donald Walther of Harmony, FL, and Cory Quinton Whitehouse and wife Danielle of St. Cloud, Florida; step grandchildren, Dinah and Jesse Harding, April and Sethe Forneris and Abbey and Jake Biard; great-grandchildren, Tre Watts, Brendan Stevens, Aven Arato, Kathryn Walther, Kyle Walther, Mackenzie Whitehouse and Aubrey Whitehouse and three step-great-grandchildren, Adeline Harding, Axel Harding and Hazel Forneris. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Services were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Wetumka, Oklahoma and officiated by Rev. Wayne Swinford.
