Service held for Bonnie L. Leming
Bonnie L. (Flanagan) Leming, 85 of McAlester, passed away on Wednesday, October 23 at a local nursing center.
The family will greet friends on Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Service.
Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, October 28, 2019 at Dustin Assembly of God Church in Dustin. Burial followed at Dustin Cemetery with Rev. Roy Robertson officiating.
Serving as active pallbearers were Jamie Kirkpatrick, Brandon Conn, David Choate, Paul Silva, William Metzger, and Trenton Cruce.
Honorary pallbearers were Gary Flanagan, Wayne Flanagan, Justin Flanagan, Heath Marco, Matthew Mitchell, Tyler Cruce and Justin Wimsett.
Bonnie was born February 28, 1934 in Lamar, Oklahoma to Rev. R. E. and Sadie E. (Graham) Flanagan.
She married Milam Leming on April 17, 1953 in Van Buren, Arkansas. Bonnie and Mi-lam owned and operated Leming Produce in McAlester for 20 plus years. She later retired from the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority where she worked as a toll booth attendant.
Bonnie was an avid sports fan, watching the Dallas Mavericks, Atlanta Braves but her favorite player was Dennis Rodman. She also e n j o y e d traveling, c a n n i n g , gardening, spending time with her family, and quilting.
Bonnie is survived by her daughters, Donna Veney of Tannehill, Ok and Pam Silva and husband, Paul of McAlester, Oklahoma, granddaughter, Devonna Mitchell of Arpelar, Ok, grandsons, Rashie Mitchell and wife, Andra of Westville, Ok and Devin Veney of Tannehill, Ok., 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
She is also survived by brothers; Bob Flanagan and wife Jessie and Nowell Flanagan and wife, Juanice, sisters; Delores Robertson and husband, Roy, Nellie Mouser, Linda Ellis and husband, Tommy, Nancy Taylor and Judy Willett and husband, Kent.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband, Milam Leming; parents, Rev. R.E. and Sadie Flanagan; grandson, Jeremy Scott Williamson, brothers; Poley Flanagan, Bill Flanagan, Andrew Flanagan, and Dowell Flanagan, and sisters; Nora Mae McGee and Thelma Seaberry.
