Service held for Vicki Lynn Giles
Vicki Lynn Giles, 66, of Holden-ville, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019 at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City following an illness.
Vicki was born August 26, 1953 in Holdenville to Robert “Bob” and Retha (Jackson) Giles. She graduated from Holden-ville High School in 1971 and attended Oklahoma State University. She retired from the Holden-ville News in 2010.
The loves of Vicki’s life were her daughter, Shannon Nicolle, who blessed her with four grandchildren: Treyton, Kanen, Bray-don and Phoenyx; her Yorkie, Piper; her family; Holdenville Animal Lovers Association, of which she was a devoted supporter and president, and her life-long best friends, Jackie Rippee and Barbara Maxwell.
Vicki was preceded in death by her daughter, Shannon in 2010; parents, Bob and Retha Giles; grandparents, Clara and Burnie Jackson; grandmother, Bonnie Giles; aunts, Sharon Giles and Johnnie Bottoms; uncles, Ray Joiner, Leon Bottoms and Roy Jackson; and her long haired chihuahua, Jetta.
She is survived by her grandsons, Treyton, Kanen and Braydon Powell of Konawa; granddaughter, Phoenyx Powell, Konawa; sister, Tammi Giles, Holdenville; brother, Rick Giles and wife Paula, of Tecumseh; nephews, Stephen Giles and wife Megan, Holden-ville, Christopher Giles, Tecumseh and Casey Giles and wife Amber, Shawnee; niece, Lauren Brown and husband Brian, Tecumseh; great nephews, Aiden Giles, Stetson Giles and Brantley Brown, and great nieces, Blakely Giles and Kennedy Giles; her extended family, Timothy and Lisa Powell and Timmy Joe and Cash Powell, all of Konawa; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held on Monday, November 18, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Fisher Funeral Home’s Lillye Chapel, followed by interment at Holdenville Cemetery, with Rev. Dane Robinson and Bill Robinson officiating. Pallbearers were Rick Giles, Stephen Giles, Tim Powell, Trey-ton Powell, Kanen Powell and Bray-don Powell. Honorary pallbearers were Christopher Giles and Casey Giles.
