Steven Gene Whitton of Holdenville, Oklahoma passed away on December 23, 2023, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Steven was born on June 6, 1952, in Holdenville, Oklahoma to longtime residents, Darrel and Betty Whitton. He attended Central Elementary and Holdenville High School, graduating in 1970. He was a member of Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church.

After graduation, Steven studied to become an electrician. Steven worked as an electrician until his retirement.

Steven is preceded in death by his mother and father Betty and Darrel Whitton. He is survived by his son, Parker Clark Whitton, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Steven was proud of Parker and admired his musical abilities as well as his loving and compassionate nature. Gary Whitton of Holdenville is Steve’s surviving brother. Dana Whitton Waggoner of Escalante, Utah is Steve’s surviving sister. Gary and Dana’s families mourn the passing of their Uncle Steve. He will be remembered for taking care of his parents towards the end of their long-lived lives, for his friendly personality, and for his love of visiting with neighbors and friends.

Beth Cocoran was Steven’s lifelong friend, and the family appreciates her enduring friendship. Beth was with Steven in his passing and for that act of kindness, the family is forever grateful. Impending services will be scheduled for a later date.
