Service Sunday for legendary Moss Coach Bob Sifers
Bobby Ray Sifers passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 at St Anthony’s Hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 65.
Bobby was born April 26, 1954 in Oklahoma City to Robert Mavis Sifers and Ida Mae Moore. Bobby graduated U.S. Grant High School in Oklahoma City and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from East Central University.
He married Debbie Cooper August 1, 1977 in Oklahoma City. He retired as principal of Moss Public Schools after 37 years of service. Bobby was a member of the Oklahoma Coaches Association, CCOSA and Choctaw Nation. He was inducted into the Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame and Oklahoma Softball Coaches Hall of Fame. He enjoyed hunting, fishing gardening, sports, going to ballgames and spending time with friends and family.
Bobby is preceded in death by his parents, and sister Cynthia Davidson.
He is survived by his wife Debbie Sifers of the home; son Dusty Sifers and wife, Andrea ,of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; grandson Cooper Ray Sifers; three sisters, Cheryl Batey, Cheila Suttee and Chana Sifers. Bobby is survived by numerous other coaches, relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, March 1, at the Moss School gymnasium, with Rocky Clarke officiating assisted by Stephen Crawford, Benny Burnett and Pastor John T. Berry. Honorary pallbearers are friends, coaches, co-workers, players and students.
Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Holdenville, Oklahoma.
