Service Thursday for Lena Bailey

Lena Bailey went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 26, 2019. She was born September 1, 1921 in Spaulding, Oklahoma to Nina and Katie (Walker) Tiger. She grew up in Holdenville and married July Bailey. They moved to California and spent the next 36 years there. In 1978, they returned to Oklahoma and lived in Holdenville.

Lena was a dedicated member of Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church. She was baptized there on August 18, 1932. She loved her church and enjoyed visiting other churches. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting and giving the things she made to people she loved. Her home was always open to everyone and you could always find a welcome and warm spirit there.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons; Edward Bailey and Richard Bailey and one granddaughter, Cheryl Bailey. She is survived by one son, Wayne Bailey of Durant, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren, twenty great children and seven great-great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Thursday January 31, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Middle Creek #2 Baptist Church. A wake service will be held at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Wednesday January 30, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 PM
