Stella Oneta Sexton Foran
Stella Oneta Sexton Foran, 80 years old, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her family.
Oneta was born in Sasakwa, Oklahoma on July 8, 1939, the youngest of 12 children to John D. and Annie (James) Sexton. Oneta was raised in Spaulding and later graduated from Spaulding High School.
Oneta married Jack Foran on February 22, 1958. The couple moved and lived for a short period of time in California before returning to the Spaulding area. They loved and raise two children, Jackson Trent and Brenda Lee(deceased) whose daughter Angela they raised as their own. They would go on to help raise their other five grandchildren as well.
Oneta worked alongside her husband, Jack, farming peanuts, professionally bailing hay, raising show hogs, goats and cattle until his death in 2006.
She is proceeded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; and daughter Brenda Lee Robinson; five brothers Oran Lee, Lennis W. Richard, James Dilbert, and Raymond Louis Sexton; five sisters Oletha Grizzle, Lorene Martin, Lessie Noel, Reba Gentilcore, and June McConnell; and one brother in law, Pete Foran.
She leaves behind on son, Jackson Trent Foran of Ada; one daughter (granddaughter) Angela Greenlee and husband Zac of Wetumka; five grandchildren, Stephen Robinson and wife Melissa of Spaulding, Travis Robinson and wife Trentie of Holdenville, Josh Foran of Ada, Jake Foran and wife Kara of Byng, and Kristene Jackson and husband James of Byng; eight great-grandsons Hayden, Brock, Dalton, Dillon, Dawson, Nolan, Jax, and Jack, and two great-granddaughters Jadey Kay, and Leeah; one sister Bessie Allen and one very special sister-in-law, Betty Foran both of Holdenville; and a host of many nieces and nephews.
Oneta was a doting “Nan” that loved spending time with her family and, most of all, her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching Thunder basketball, OU Football, and loved stopping by the Casino to try her luck.
Interment was Wednesday, April 15 th , at 11:00 am, in the Holdenville Cemetery.
Pallbearers were James Jackson, Zac Greenlee, Shon Thomas Taylor, Robert Martin, Shan Moore and John Travis Mudd. Honorary pallbearers were Hayden Tarver, Brock Robinson, Dalton Robinson, Dillon Robinson, Dawson Robinson, Nolan Jackson, Jax Foran, and Jack Greenlee.
Services were under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
Due to COVID-19, social distancing was practiced.
