Our sympathy is extended to the family of Tonya Dyer

Funeral services for Tonya Dawn Dyer were held Tuesday,November 12, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Wetumka. Interment followed at the Wetumka Cemetery.

Tonya Dawn Dyer was born September 13, 1972, in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Jimmy Mark Gentry Sr. and Gloria (Washington) Gentry. She passed away Friday, November 8, 2024, in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 52.

Tonya was a longtime resident of Wetumka and a 1991 graduate of Wetumka High School. She and Billy W. Dyer were married July 1, 1994, in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Tonya worked with the Oakridge Home in Wewoka for 20 years before being employed at Wes Watkins VoTech in Wetumka as an administrative assistant. Tonya loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed time with her grandson, Rustin. She liked to “Bedazzle” nearly anything and watching the news. She also loved her cat Nemo! Tonya will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her father, Jimmy Mark Gentry, Sr.; her grandparents, Phoebe and Wesley Washington and Altha and Floyd Gentry and greatg randparents, Maybelle and Edgar O'Neal.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Dyer of Wetumka; her mother, Gloria Gentry of Seminole; her son, Justin Dyer and wife Ellisa of Holdenville; one brother, Jimmy Mark Gentry Jr. and wife April of Seminole; four sisters, Angela O'Neal and husband Rodger of Holdenville, Melissa Lynn Martin of Holdenville, Gloria Dawn Wallace of Okmulgee and Alicia Fletcher and husband Jimmy of Allen, Oklahoma and one grandson, Rustin Ellis Dyer with one granddaughter on the way.

Serving as pallbearers were Mark Gentry, Draven Thomas, Dakota Thomas, Rodger O'Neal, Jimmy Wallace and Noah Gentry.

Services were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Wetumka, Oklahoma.
