Service held for Chuck Harmon
Charles “Chuck” Harmon, of Tulsa, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the age of 83. A funeral service honoring his life was held 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at South Tulsa Baptist Church with burial following at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Chuck was born Tuesday, July 2, 1935 in Dustin, Oklahoma to Eddie Dee and Mary Anne (Wilson) Harmon.
Chuck met the love of his life, Evelyn Taylor, at the popcorn machine in the movie theatre in Dustin, Oklahoma and on June 7, 1958 in Dustin, Oklahoma they were married. The ir union was blessed with three sons Bob, Steve and Brian.
Chuck attended the University of Oklahoma and earned B. S. degrees in Geological Engineering as well as Petroleum Engineering. He and wife Evelyn founded C.E. Harmon Oil Inc.in 1980 and he remained President of the company until his death. He was known by his employees for the many cookouts he hosted for them and the compassionate, caring way he ran his business. He remained active in many professional organizations including the Domestic Energy Producers Alliance, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and the National Strippers Well Association to name a few. He was also an active member of the Dustin High School Alumni Association, the University of Oklahoma Alumni Association and his home church, South Tulsa Baptist. Survivors include his wife Evelyn Harmon of the home, sons: Bob Harmon and wife Angie of Owasso, Brian Harmon and wife Christina of Verdigris; daughter-in-law: Nickie Harmon of Broken Arrow; grandchildren: Katie Harmon of Owasso, Anna Harmon of Owasso; brother Sam Harmon; sisters: Virginia Nienhuis, Sue Harmon; close family friend Haley Brewer and numerous other beloved family and friends.
Chuck is predeceased by his parents Eddie Dee and Mary Anne Harmon, son, Steven Harmon and brother Gene Harmon.
