Service Today for David Peixotto
David Farrar Peixotto was born to David W. and Alma Louise (Farrar) Peixotto on August 11, 1934 in Dustin, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on April 13, 2019 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
David was raised in Wetumka and made it his life-long home, except for a few years while attending the University of Oklahoma. David played the cornet in the OU band, and he also played in a jazz band on the side. When OU went to the Orange Bowl, the money from playing those gigs helped David pay his way to play there! David graduated from OU with a degree in business and returned to Wetumka, where he worked with his father in the insurance business until he purchased the business and ran it himself in 1972. David married Billye Nolen in 1956 and of that marriage four children were born. Those children brought David grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren. David married Karen Romberg in 2002.
David enjoyed fishing and he loved to hunt—rabbits, squirrel, pheasant, and especially quail. He had a farm outside Wetumka, where he taught himself to be an exceptional gardener. He had orchards, kept bees, canned everything, made jellies, and brought forth all the fruits of the earth with an exceptional amount of knowledge he had gleaned from diligent study and practice.
David is preceded in death by his parents, and by his daughter, Julie.
David is survived by his wife, Karen, of the home; by his daughters, Lezli Stormes and husband, Keith; Laurie Kifer and husband, Bill; son, David W. and wife Celia;
and son-in-law, Danny Jurgens; by nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a step-daughter, Kerry Murdoch and husband, Christian; three step-grandchildren; by his sister Beverly Cockman and husband, Cecil; and by a host of dear friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at at the United Methodist Church of Wetumka. Rev. Robert Foos will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Wetumka
