Service held for Jesse James Leader
Jesse James Leader passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 77.
Jesse was born June 2, 1941 in Holdenville to Barney James Leader and Effie Harjo. He attended Spaulding public schools and Chilocco schools and received his GED. He was a heavy equipment operator in the construction field. Jesse was a member of the Snake Creek Baptist Church. He loved reading the Bible and he
loved his grandchildren. He was an artist and has artwork in the Muscogee 5 Tribes Museum, he liked working heavy equipment, NASCAR and the OU Sooners.
Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, Barney Leader and Liza Barnett Leader, his grandma Kizzie, daughter Katherine Leader, siblings Gilbert Mcully, Kenneth Mcully, Mary Bear, Salina Sanchez, Joyce Mcully and James Leader.
He is survived by his children, son Michael Leader and wife Tonya of Shawnee, daughter Brigita Leader of Shawnee, daughter Stephanie Prysork of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, daughter Melanie Leader of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and son Barney James Leader and wife Celestine of Seminole, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; siblings Lottie Coody of Wewoka, Evelyn Mcully of Tahlequah, Marilyn Moore of Seminole, Edwin Mcully of Sallisaw, William Mcully of Tahlequah, Raymond Leader of Lamar, Eddie Leader of Okemah, and Sandra Leader Deer of Wewoka.
Funeral service was 1:00 PM Saturday, April 13th , at the Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville, Oklahoma with Pastor Bill Hobia officiating and Pastor Jeff Sloan assisting. Wake was 6:00-8:00 pm Friday April 1th, at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel.
Pallbearers were Joshua Leader, Christopher Leader, Aaron Leader, Blake Adair, Hokkolen Mcully, and Zack Mcully. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Dunn, Daniel Bear, Patrick Bear and Richard Wolf.
Interment followed at Tiger family cemetery.
Services were under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Holdenville, Oklahoma.
