Service held for Louise (Robison) Wells

Louise (Robison) Wells was born November 23, 1929 at Carson, Oklahoma to Newman Joseph Robison and Myrtle (Whitwell) Robison and passed from this life September 6, 2018 in Shawnee at the age of 88.

Ms. Wells was raised in Carson and attended Carson School. She later attended Seminole Junior College where she received an Associate’s Degree in the school’s first graduating class. She later attended East Central State College and the University of Oklahoma.

In 1946, she was married to Roland Oscar Wells. They first made their home in Carson later relocating to the Texas panhandle. They returned to Oklahoma in 1969.

She is remembered as a loving homemaker but had also worked outside the home as a teacher’s aide and library assistant for the Wewoka School system. She later became director of their Title 4 Johnson O’Malley program which assisted Native American students. She was very proud of her own native heritage being a member of the Creek Tribe. Louise was also in partners with her daughter-in-law Tina in the W-W Bakery in McCamey, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 2006. A son Dick Wells, a sister Peggy Eldridge, and two brothers, Edward and Delma Robison, also died earlier.

Survivors include: 3 sons, David (Tina) Wells and Henry (Mary) Wells of Wewoka and James Wells (Michael Paul) of Shawnee; 3 brothers, Cleo Robison of Dustin, Tommy Robison of Carson, and Don Whitfield of Jenks; 4 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends, which includes a special friend Rose Gardner of Wewoka.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Wewoka with Rev. Kellos Walker officiating. Pallbearers were David Wells, Henry Wells, James Wells, Henry Len Wells, Jr., Mike Wells, and Michael Paul. Interment was in the Carson Cemetery under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home.
