Mary Ruth Killmer
Mary Ruth (Teague) Johnson Killmer was born August 4, 1932 in Lake City, Arkansas to Howard Teague and Olcie Menta (Passmore) Teague and was the oldest of four siblings. She passed from this life June 25, 2019 in Tulsa at the age of 86.
The family moved to Weleetka in 1936. Ruth attended the Weleetka School graduating in 1950. On September 10th of that year she married Robert (Bob) Johnson. They made Weleetka their lifelong home and raised two loving daughters, Beth and Lynn. He preceded her in death on July 3, 2006, two months before their 56th wedding anniversary.
Ruth was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Weleetka serving wherever she was needed for nearly sixty years before moving to Blanchard in 2010. Ruth worked many years in her father-in-law’s grocery store, JB Grocery, and later for the Weleetka Lumber Company. Wherever she was, Ruth made many friends with her quite manner and sweet smile. She was loved by many.
In addition to her husband, Bob, she was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Fred and Bill Teague, a sister Elizabeth Teague Nowlin, a brother-in-law Jerry Nowlin, along with several other extended family members. Survivors include: her daughters Beth Hansen and husband Mark and Lynn King and husband David of Tulsa, her grandsons Wes Owens and wife Kristin of McKinney, TX, Ryan King and wife Siarah of Tulsa, a granddaughter Lindsey Jones and husband Joseph of Tulsa, 4 great grandchildren, Cadence King, Weston King, Kallie Owens and Daxton Jones, nephews Paul and Todd Nowlin and families, nieces Angela and Colleen Nowlin, sister-in-law Ledda Teague, two nieces, Melissa and Stephanie, sister-in-law Janie Teague, niece Cathy Teague and nephew Lonnie Teague and wife Linda. Three cousins Ruby Morgan, Ray Coyle and Malinda Koonce. Ulon Killmer of Blanchard, her dear friends Vicki Friend and Mitt Williams and many other loved ones and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 29, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Weleetka with Rev. Ron Black and
