Service held for Jim Lysinger
On Thursday, August 29, 2019, our father, James H. (Jim) Lysinger went to be with his Lord. He was born on August 18, 1934 in Lancaster, Ohio to Herbert Lysinger and Ada Reynolds.
He was predeceased by both of his parents, his daughter Rose Marie, his foster son Andrew, his son-in-law Dennis, and his grandson Nicholas.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Sara (Sally) Lysinger of 63 years; his children, Ann Lysinger Gavin and husband Michael of Henryetta, Angela Lysinger Schwarzkopf LiDonni and husband Jose of Hobe Sound, Florida, Alyssa Lysinger of Holdenville, Amy Lysinger Hufford and husband Billy of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and son James Andrew Lysinger and wife Jamie of Wetumka; his sister, Norma Rea of Hartford City, Indiana; his brother, Kenneth Lysinger of Lancaster, Oklahoma; 19 grandchildren, and 23 great-children who were dearly loved by their papaw; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Jim lived several years of his childhood in Lancaster, Ohio before moving to Hartford City, Indiana where he met his future wife while delivering groceries to the neighbors. She fell in love with his curly black hair. They married on December 18, 1955 and moved to Sumpter, South Carolina where he served four years in the United States Air Force. They returned to Hartford City to raise their family and he went to work for 3M Paper Co., retiring after 34 years.
He was a member of the Hartford City Elks Club where our family socialized for many years and he served as an officer at the club. He was also a deacon at First Baptist Church of Montpelier, Indiana for many years.
Jim enjoyed visiting with friends and family over coffee, spending time with his family, and his church. He will be remembered for his unmistakable laugh and the unshakable pure love he had for his wife.
Services were held at First Baptist Church in Holdenville at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 2nd . He will then return to Hartford City, Indiana to be laid to rest by his daughter.
