Service held for Lee J. Estep
Lee J. Estep was born February 4, 1931 to Carl and Laura Estep at Sand Creek, near Cromwell. He married Jera Hickman on July 4, 1952.
He worked 40 years in the oil field as a driller, roughneck, and tool pusher. Lee served two years in the Army during the Korean War and spent ten months in Baumholder, Germany as a gunner on the 280 millimeter atomic cannon.
Lee served as a deacon for the First Assembly of God Church Holdenville.
Preceding Lee in death are his parents; one daughter, Cheryl; and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mack and Lobertia Hickman.
Survivors include his wife Jera, of the home; son Michael Lee Estep and wife Marty and Bert of Del City; two grandsons Michael Shane and wife Betty of Gernada, and Shawn and wife Kendra of Midwest City; four great-grandchildren Blake, Madison, Taylor, and Tyler; two brothers, Richard of Seminole, and Rick of Holden-ville; one sister, Geraldine Lowe of Drumright; one brother-in-law Richard Hickman; and his dog Cocoa.
Funeral services were 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 12th , at First Assembly of God Church Holdenville, with Pastor Paul Ratcliff and Rev. Allen Lewis officiating. Burial followed at Little Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Blake Estep, Michael Estep, Shawn Estep, Tyler Estep, Blake Browning, and Jesse Sawyer. Honorary pallbearers were David Roark, Paul Clevenger, Jerry Davis, Jimmy Wortman, Don Kimrey, Jerry Green, Heath Browning, and Rick Arthur.
