Service held for Isabel Charlotte Phipps Isabel Charlotte born 61944

Isabel Charlotte Phipps was born June 6,1944 in Chicago, Illinois to William Maas and Gertrude (Huchburger) Maas and passed from this life December 3, 2019 in Tulsa at the age of 75.  

After spending her earliest years in Illinois, she relocated with her family to Tucson, Arizona. It was there she was raised and attended school. At the young age of 17 she married Howard Phipps. Because her family was Jewish and Howard was Christian her mother had the marriage annulled. However, they were married again the following year after she turned 18. She adhered to her Jewish faith while he maintained his Christian faith but they made it work. They continued living in Tucson where all their children were born. After living between Arizona and Oklahoma for a few years they finally settled in Weleetka,  Oklahoma to stay in 1981. She is remembered as a loving wife, mother, and homemaker.

She enjoyed sewing and loved Elvis music. She also cherished her pet dogs Prince, Lady, and Missy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Survivors include: three children; William and his wife Stacy of Weleetka, and Debbie Jones and husband Marvin and David Phipps and wife Jackie of Wetumka; a sister Benita Babeckis of Tucson, AZ; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Funeral services will be today, Thursday,December 5, at 2:00 pm at the Spradlin Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at the Westlawn Cemetery in Henryetta under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka and Weleetka.
