Service today for David Brent Harjo-Moffer

Services for David Brent Harjo-Moffer will be held today, Thursday, February 27, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel in Okemah. Committal will follow at the Moffer Family Cemetery near Wetumka, Oklahoma with military honors.

David Brent Harjo-Moffer was born September 25, 1942 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Eddie Moffer and Hazel (Absher) Moffer. He passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 77.

David grew up in Wetumka, Oklahoma and later graduated high school from Chandler, Oklahoma. He proudly served his country with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. David retired from the USDA and later worked in real estate for the Sac and Fox Nation and Bureau of Indian Affairs. On September 25, 2007, in Holdenville, Oklahoma, he married Melissa Ann Harjo. David also enjoyed searching for and collecting arrowheads and fossils.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Eddie Moffer, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Mellisa Ann Harjo-Moffer of the home north of Wetumka; one son, Brent Tvlwv Moffer and wife Dana of Norman; three daughters, Debbie Devine of Nashville, Tennessee, Raquel Moffer of Ft. Thompson, South Dakota and Kim Moffer of North Carolina and several grandchildren.

Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home and officiated by Frank Moppin.
