Service Friday for Ronald Dean Goad

Ronald Dean Goad (88) passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2020, in Grand Prairie, Texas. He was born at Pecan Grove, Oklahoma to Willie Aubrey Goad and Winnie (Taylor) Goad on February 24, 1932. He was raised in the Holdenville area and graduated from Yeager High School in 1950 as Valedictorian of his class.

Ronald married Loretta Sherrin on April 5, 1952. After serving two years in the Army, during the Korean War, they moved to Grand Prairie, Texas. Ronald had a long and successful career at LTV Aerospace Corporation, as an electronic technician supervisor.

Ronald enjoyed fishing and hunting. After retirement, he spent many hours traveling and collecting antiques with his wife Loretta.

He was preceded in death by his wife Loretta (2014) after 62 years of marriage; his parents Aubrey and Winnie Goad; sisters-in-law Sherry Goad, Irene Sherrin, Louise Sherrin, and Lavaughn Sherrin; and brothers-in-law Denton Sherrin, Dewayne Sherrin and Leon Sherrin.

He is survived by his brother Tom Goad of Grand Prairie; niece Linda Jurca (Kyle); nephew Don Goad (Teresa); three great nieces and one great nephew and his extended family Noel Sherrin (Lois), Melvin Sherrin, Jerome Sherrin, Imogene S t o u t (Herman), M a r i e McCombs (Gerald), and Virginia Gilbert (Norman); and sister-in-law Tommie Sherrin. He enjoyed spending time with his many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Pat Manton, RD’s private nurse for her kindness and care.

Viewing will be 6:00- 8:00 PM Thursday July 23, 2020 at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Friday July 24, 2020 at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home Chapel in Holdenville with Pastor Dane Robinson officiating.
