Buddy Grizzle

Buddy Grizzle passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at his home in Holdenville at the age of 73.

Buddy was born August 18, 1947 to JD and Letha Grizzle of Holdenville. He graduated from Holdenville High School in 1966 as a star athlete. Buddy married June Wilson on August 30, 1973.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Holdenville. Buddy was known to be the hard-working carpenter in Holdenville for many years. He worked at Davis Correctional Facility from February of 1996 and retired in the maintenance department in June of 2017.

Buddy also served in the National Guard for several years, and was honorably discharged.

Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, JD and Letha, his wife June, and brothers Jerry Don and Lee Grizzle. He is survived by son Kevin Grizzle of Fort Gibson, daughter Holly Grizzle Crow and husband Vic of Holdenville, son Seth Grizzle and wife Joey of Burleson, TX, son Case Grizzle and Brittany Zellner of Holdenville, special niece Lesa Grizzle of Holdenville, nephew Greg Grizzle, wife Angel, and great-niece Samantha of Arlington, TX, and daughter-in-law Sandi Grizzle of Tulsa.

Buddy is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Autumn Shaw and husband Vance of Holdenville, Spencer Grizzle of Owasso, Blake Grizzle of Catoosa, Kagen Cross of Holdenville, Hayden Grizzle of Owasso, Hallie Grizzle of Tulsa, Jace, Cole, Cami of Holdenville; two great-grandchildren Sebastyan and Journey of Holdenville; and nieces Tory Mathews and Whitney Roberts.

Buddy loved spending time with his friends and family, but especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved to keep everyone laughing and was loved by all of the community.

Pallbearers were Gary DeShields, Larry Miller, Bobby Black, Leon Barrett, Mike Mooney, and Gene Shed. Honorary pallbearers were Trent Miller, Troy Miller, Doyle Bane, Doyle Crumb, Pat Wilkerson, and Kenny Snyder.

Funeral services were held at 3:00PM Saturday, November 28, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Holdenville with Pastor James Poulain officiating.
