Robert Berryhill
Robert James Berryhill Sr. was born on December 8, 1932 in Okemah, Oklahoma to Roley and Sarah Berryhill. He was an enrolled member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. Robert served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on November 26, 1954. Robert served as a member of First Baptist Church in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He entered into his Heavenly home on December 6, 2020 at the age of 87.
Robert was saved and baptized on April 14 ,1976. He dedicated his life to serving the Lord and those around him. While living in Kansas, he and his wife Barbara served at both Cornerstone Baptist Church as well as the Haskell Baptist Mission. He loved going on mission trips alongside Haskell. When he and his wife moved back home to Oklahoma, he surrendered his life to ministry and became an ordained minister. While in Oklahoma, Robert served as a member and interim pastor at Little Quarsarty Baptist Church in Cromwell. He also served with the Muscogee/Seminole/Wichita Baptist Association.
As a believer, Robert devoted his life to ministry and enjoyed helping those he encountered. He loved reminiscing about his life, his time in the military, past mission trips, and memories with family. He enjoyed watching OU and OSU football and the Dallas Cowboys during football season. He loved to stay active by working around his home and volunteering his services to mow grass for his church, neighbors and the MSW grounds. Robert was always enthusiastic in finding ways to minister to those around him wherever he was. He will always be remembered as a great example of a servant of Christ.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Barbara Berryhill; his son, Robert Berryhill Jr. (Robbie), his daughter, Marian Berryhill and his son Phillip Berryhill; his brothers and sister, Sonny Berryhill, Joe Lee Berryhill, and Nettie Ruth Berryhill. Survivors include his grandson, Kyle Berryhill Sr. and his wife Kelly; granddaughters Krystal, Daryn, and Tiffany Berryhill. He is also survived by his greatgrandchildren, Kyndall and Kyle Berryhill Jr. He was also survived by his brother, Chubby Berryhill, Sisters Peggy Johnson and Linda Berryhill along with numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral services for Robert Berryhill will be held at the First Baptist Church of Wetumka on Friday, December 11 at 11:00am with Randy Colbert officiating. Interment will follow at Wiley-Watson Cemetery in Dustin, under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home.
