Thurman Derrell Tankersley was born July 18, 1936 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Thurston Grady Tankersley and Amby Renee Tankersley. He passed from this life May 20, 2021 in Tulsa at the age of 84.

Thurman Derrell Tankersley was raised in Wetumka by Bill and Amby Tankersley. He was the proud owner of Derrell’s Donuts for 36 years before he retired in Tulsa, Oklahoma. When not working he enjoyed his hobbies of fishing, watching western movies, history, and reading.

Thurman is survived by two sons, William Lee and Joshua Paul. Thurman is also survived by seven grandchildren, three boys and four girls.

Thurman was a devoted father, grandfather, and beloved husband and will be sorely missed.

A graveside funeral service for Thurman Derrell Tankersley will be held today, Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 2:00pm at Wetumka Cemetery in Wetumka, Oklahoma, under the direction of Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home of Wetumka and Weleetka. Pallbearers will be William Tankersley, Joshua Tankersley, Randy Tankersley, Derrell Tankersley, Madison Tankersley, and Carson Kay. Honorary Pallbearer will be Nathan Stites. Rev. Don Williamson will officiate.
