V. L. Watters
V.L. Watters age 84 departed this life on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at his home in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. He was born November 30, 1936 in Sasakwa to the late William Jackson Watters and Ivy Augusta Hailey Watters. He attended Rocky Point, Culley and Sasakwa Schools.
On January 11, 1958 he married Alice May Rodden in Ada, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death May 1, 2014.
V.L. worked in the oilfield as a driller for many years. He later went to work for Seminole County as a road grader until he retired. He attended the Church of Christ. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, trapping and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed listening to Hank Williams music and reading Louis Lamore books.
Preceding V.L. in death are his parents, wife, grandchild Scotland Bible, sisters Juanita Cravens and Wanda Jones, and brothers George Watters, Leroy Watters, Bill Watters and John Watters.
Survivors include his children Jeff Watters and wife Sophia, Shelly Bible and husband Gary Bible, and Jeri House all of Sasakwa; one sister Oleta Williams of Cromwell; grandchildren Heather Clifford and husband Justin, Holly Goodson and husband John, Byron Bible and wife Racheal, Tiffany Davis and husband Jessie, Charity Childs and husband Justin, Hali Calvert and husband Byron, and Paige Lyon and husband Alex; great-grandchildren Presley Kirkwood, Ivy Bible, Bryor Bible, Felicity Davis, Faith Davis, Emma Roberson, Madalen Foreman and husband Joseph, Remington Clifford, Rush Black and wife Lauryn, Rylan Black, Roper Goodson, Rance Goodson, Lane Childs, Tuff Childs, A.J. Dooley, Kash Calvert, Ashlee Calvert, Grayson Lyon, Willow Lyon, and Jasper Childs; and one great-great-granddaughter, Everleigh May Gentry.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, October 21 st , at Stout-Phillips Funeral Chapel, with Kent Dowell officiating and burial to follow at Vamoosa Cemetery.
Pall bearers will be Byron Bible, Rush Black, Rylan Black, Floyd Brown, Roper Goodson, Justin Childs, Justin Clifford, John Goodson, Alex Lyon, Byron Calvert and Jesse Roberson. Honorary pall bearers will be Lester Reich, Ozell Jones, Mark McFarren, Jesse Blackburn, David Green and Great-Grandsons.
