Debra June Moore

Debra June “Debbie” Moore passed away at her home surrounded by her family early October 31, 2021. She was 64 years old and a lifelong resident of Holdenville, OK.

Debbie was born August 27, 1957 in Holdenville, OK to J.C. and June McConnell.

She had a childhood surrounded by friends and close family where she was loved by all. Her personality and beautiful soul could light up any room.

Debbie was Little Olympics Queen, cheerleader, involved in numerous school activities, including Future Business Leaders of America. Debbie was also homecoming queen with her high school sweetheart, soulmate, and future husband, Danny Moore.

Debbie and Danny were married on April 22, 1978 at Holdenville Lake and were blessed with three beautiful children; April, Shan, and Allyson.

Danny, Debbie, and her parents J.C. and June ran the Village Market while realizing their potential in the restaurant industry. Debbie and June started baking pies, other desserts, and meals. They became so popular that they opened June’s in 1989 where you can still get a piece of their original cream pie recipe to this day.

Debbie was always known for her cooking skills. She would tell anyone that she showed her love for you through her cooking. You could definitely taste it if you were ever lucky enough to eat her mashed potatoes, dressing, or anything else she could whip up in no time! Debbie loved her employees and would go the extra mile to help them. If you were lucky enough to work with her in the kitchen, you learned a thing or two and found out she was never too good to work right alongside you! Danny and Debbie both would roll up their sleeves and outwork anyone at any age.

She passed her love of cooking and grilling on to her daughter April, her son Shan and his wife Destiny. She took great pride in her children’s entrepreneurship and was known for her ambition and willingness to try new things and ideas. Never afraid of failure, she would push her children to open businesses of their own and was so proud of her daughters Allyson and April for their successes in the creativity and hospitality industries.

No matter how busy Debbie and Danny were with their restaurant, they always found ways to help the community. They spent countless hours running and improving the HRA program for years and did the same for the Cub Scouts program.

If Danny and Debbie couldn’t be found at the restaurant they could be found at the lake or working on various home improvement projects. They were the perfect team and could outwork and outbuild anyone.

Those closest to Debbie would know that her greatest pride was not only her children, but also her grandchildren. She loved nothing more than to spend time with them and was so very proud of them.

Even though Debbie is leaving this Earth sooner than she would have hoped, she lived a very full life surrounded by her loved ones. Her legacy will live on and we were all better by simply being fortunate enough to be around her.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Danny Moore of Holdenville; her daughter April Massad, spouse Eric Massad and grandson Brodey, of Fort Gibson, OK; her son Shan and wife Destiny, of Holdenville; her daughter Allyson and grandsons Roman and Everett, of Holdenville.

Debbie is preceded in death by her parents, J.C. & June McConnell.

A celebration of Debbie’s beautiful life was held at Sweetbelle Farms, which she was so proud of.
