Johnny Mack James

A viewing for Johnny Mack James, Dustin, Oklahoma resident, will be held Thursday, May 19, 2022, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM at the Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Okemah, Oklahoma.

Johnny Mack James was born August 10, 1948 in Henryetta, Oklahoma to Frank and Bonnie (Ross) James. He passed away Monday, May 16, 2022 near Eufaula, Oklahoma at the age of 73.

Johnny was a longtime resident of Dustin, Oklahoma and had attended Pharoah Schools as a child. In 1971 he married Florence Marie Snowder and she later preceded him in death on February 5, 2012. Johnny was a hard worker. He worked as a fence builder and in the oilfield as a pipeliner. He also loved to go noodling and squirrel hunting.

Also preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Doug, Bobby and Charlie and five sisters, Virginia, Helen, Dean, Nancy and JoAnn.

Survivors include his son, J. James and wife Andi of Okemah; daughter, Alice Hammon and husband Jay of Henryetta; two brothers, Don and Jimmy James; sister, Veta Kay Maxwell; five grandchildren, Cody, Tyler, Chad, Alisha and Allison and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his niece, Sharon Corley and husband Jimmie of Eufaula.
