Darrick Wayne Walker
Darrick Wayne Walker was born on December 3, 1977, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He was the eldest son of Harry & Linda (Lowe) Walker. He was grandson to the late Rev. Terry & Eliza (Bear) Walker, and Angel & Elizabeth (McGirt) Lowe. On July 31, 2022, he left this earthly world.
Darrick was big brother to his little brothers, Erric and Zachariah, but his most important job was being Dad to his two daughters, Eliza and Darrica. He wanted to be the best dad to his girls. Darrick accomplished this task. He did all he could for them. His biggest enjoyment was watching his girls play sports. He would make this his priority. This year he was so proud to be a Grandpa to his grandson, Roderrick.
Darrick’s baptism was officiated by Rev. George Harjochee of Middle Creek Baptist Church #2.
Darrick attended Meeker, Holdenville and Seminole schools. He was an avid football fan, as he had grown up in a family of football players. His dad, uncle, and cousins were Seminole Chieftains, and he himself was a Seminole Chieftain for life. With his 6’2” 300# frame, he played offensive line with his fellow teammates, Nick, Jason, Jeremy, Eddie, and Jarod. They won the 1996 State Football Championship, beating the Spiro Redskins 27-26 after the Redskins led 26-0 at halftime.
Darrick graduated Seminole High School. He had obtained his Associates Degree from Haskell Indian Nation University. He had met and made numerous friends and had shared his gift of story telling. He once said he was an author and had stories to tell.
Darrick was loved by his family, he was loved dearly by his aunt Shirley. He will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rev. Terry & Liza Walker, and his maternal grandparents, Angel & Elizabeth Lowe.
He is survived by two daughters, Darrica Walker of Farmington NM, and Eliza Walker of Tahlequah; one grandson, Roderrick Walker; his parents, Harry & Linda Walker; two brothers, Erric Walker of Seminole, and Zach Walker of Seminole; other family members and many friends.
