Brenda Lou Leftwich

Brenda Lou Leftwich passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 76.

Brenda was born January 13, 1947 in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Henry Harjo Sr. and Judy (Wesley) Harjo. She graduated from Bearden Public School. Brenda married Wallace Gambler. She was a homemaker. Brenda was an active Elder in Kailegee Tribal Town and active in the Holdenville Community Center and her church, First Indian Baptist Church in Holdenville. She loved gardening, sewing and spending time with her family and friends.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, (1st) husband Troy Leftwich, (2nd) husband Wallace Gambler, sisters; Matilda Jones, Lois Harjo, brothers; Melford Hobia and Curtis Johnson. She is survived by her children; Phyllis Battle of Ranger, TX, Tammy Deer and husband Chris of Cushing, Lisa Leftwich of Oklahoma City, Bobby Leftwich of Wetumka, Link Leftwich and wife Melaine of Dale, Mose Ray Leftwich and wife Lucinana of Wetumka, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, brothers; Henry Harjo Jr. of Wetumka, and Andrew Harjo and wife Janet of Arkansas. Brenda is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers were Randy Leftwich, Dylan Armstrong, Jason Fuentes, Adrian Fuentes, Cecil Fuentes and Kevin Harjo.

Funeral service was held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the First Indian Baptist Church in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

Interment followed at Salt Creek Church Cemetery.

Services were under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home, Holdenville, Oklahoma.
