Service to be held for James “Jimmy” Thompson McGill
James “Jimmy” Thompson McGill passed away September 23, 2023 in Wagoner, Oklahoma at the age of 58.
Jim was born September 14, 1965 in Gatesville, Texas to Tom and Dalace McGill. He was raised in Holdenville, Oklahoma and graduated from Holdenville High School, class of 1983.
Jimmy was proud to be a cowboy. He loved hunting, fishing, kaya king down the Illinois River, Oklahoma football, and playing his guitar. That twinkle in his eye, bright smile, deep belly laugh, and big personality will be remembered by all who loved him. You could always find him talking and trading stories with his friends and family.
His stories were larger than life! He could made you feel like you were there, or wish you were, and he loved telling them. He enjoyed creating new signature recipes and being outside on the grill cooking for people, and he was good at it! He loved kidding around and you always knew he was up to something when he shot you that wink. He was a caring father and Paw Paw who loved spending time with his kids and grandkids whenever he could. Most importantly, Jim passionately loved the Lord and wanted to talk about Him and pray with you every chance he got.
He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Thompson McGill.
He is survived by his mother, Dalace McGill; partner, Annie McGill; his children, Ashley McGill, Tyson Collins, Kady and husband Jessie Hopkins, Jacy McGill, Carley and husband Tyler Mayfield; grandchil dren, Waylon Collins, Bethany and Damaris Hopkins, Laramie and Lawson Mayfield; sis ters, Sandy and husband Steve Watts, Mary and husband Rollin Harper; Brothers, Zack and wife Anna McGill, Enoch and wife Crystal McGill, Ben and wife Alicia McGill and Jacob and wife Kaly McGill; countless cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and friends.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 4 pm, Friday, 29 September 2023 at the McGill Family Cemetery, 34658 NS 3500, Konawa, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mental Health Association Oklahoma, mhaok.org, or mental health organization of your choice.
