Billie Loyce Muse
Billie Loyce Hawthorne Muse was born on December 1, 1932 at her home near Panola, Oklahoma to William Lee Hawthorne and Josie Olivia Davis Hawthorne, She passed away on October 26, 2023 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 90.
Loyce married Billie Gene Muse on June 10, 1950. They enjoyed a long, happy marriage for 71 years. She faithfully served beside him in
life through good times and through daily struggles. She loved her family and was never happier than when she was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She loved being with other family as well.
She loved her church and church family. She served as a deacon's wife, Sunday school teacher, choir member, various offices in the women's auxiliary, and working with children in vacation bible school. She helped provide food for funerals and other church functions as well as looking forward to working in the local food bank distribution.
Loyce was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Muse; her parents; sister Betty Davis; brothers Vernon, R.A., and W.L. Hawthorne; grandson Ryan Savoy Coppedge; and son-in- law Donnie Williams.
She is survived by three daughters, Laquita Muse Turner and husband Tom Turner of Holdenville, Sharon Muse Williams of Raymore, Missouri, and Lanette Muse Coppedge and husband Ronnie Coppedge of Tishomingo, Oklahoma; sister June Hawthorne Sorrels of Blanchard, Oklahoma; six
grandchildren, Amie Turner Johnson and husband Darin of Holdenville, Lance Williams and wife Liz of California, Jennifer Nicole Coppedge Rowe and husband Dustin of Moore, Chris Williams and wife Kate of Raymore, Missouri, Sandy Turner Teel and husband Scott Teel of Moore, and Mandy Williams Dertinger and husband Jeff of Raymore, Missouri; eighteen great- grandchildren Price Rowe, Brittany Gonzales, Madison Rowe, Kobe Johnson and wife Allison, Ted Williams, Sydney Gonzales, Brent Teel, Nathan Dertinger, Kailyn Johnson, Jaxson Teel, Remmie Teel, Max Williams, Cooper Williams, Jack Williams, Judson Williams, Lincoln Williams, Lottie Kate Williams, and baby boy Williams number 6. She is also survived by sister-in- law Fern Muse Duncan of Wilburton, and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 3:00 pm at the Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Holdenville, Oklahoma, on Monday, October 30th.
Burial Holdenvillle Cemetery in Holdenville, Oklahoma Pallbearers were Chris Williams, Dustin Rowe, Darin Johnson, Scott Teel, Jeff Dertinger, Price Rowe, Kobe Johnson, Brent Teel, Jaxon Teel, Nathan Dertinger.
