Philip Lee Sharp
Philip Lee Sharp passed away on June 10, 2024, at his home in Holdenville, Oklahoma at the age of 78. He was born on June 6, 1946, to Donald Francis Sharp and Margaret Edeen (Springs) Sharp in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He was raised in Holdenville and graduated from Holdenville High School in 1964. He continued his education at Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton. In 1966, he joined the Oklahoma Army National Guard and served for eleven years.
Philip married Loita Nowlin on August 11, 1967, in Holdenville. Together they had two children, Jennifer and Jonathan.
In 1976, he graduated from Oklahoma State Tech in Okmulgee, Oklahoma after completing the Air ConditioningandRefrigeration Program. He owned his own business, Sharp’s Heating and Air in Holdenville for over twenty years. He later worked for the CCA Davis Correctional Facility for 25 years. Philip enjoyed hunting deer and turkey, and most of all, spending time with his family and friends.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Donald Sharp and Margaret (Springs) Sharp Bartlett.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Loita Sharp; daughter Jennifer Sharp of Moore, Oklahoma; son, Jonathan Sharp and wife Taloa of Latta, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Kecia, Hunter, Carmen, and Bryce; greatgranddaughter, Elena; sister Donna Geurin and husband David of Billings, Montana; nephew Dr. Michael Geurin of Billings, Montana; and his faithful companion, his dog, Dixie.
Viewing will be 1pm to 5pm, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday (June 21st, 22nd and 23rd) at Hudson Phillips Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23rd, at Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville.
Memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 24th, at the Holdenville Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Larry Luman officiating, assisted by Bill Robinson and Rev. Dane Robinson. Interment will follow at the Holdenville Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers are Larry Luman, Roger Whelan, Mike Mooney, Terry Carter, Max Pace and David Geurin.
Services are under the direction of Hudson-Phillips Funeral Home in Holdenville, Oklahoma.
